Women and Work APPG announces 2018 theme – How to Recruit Women for the 21st Century

The Women and Work APPG is delighted to announce its 2018 theme, How to Recruit Women for the 21st Century. Throughout our work in the past two years we have heard repeatedly from different sources about the ways in which employers struggle to attract and recruit women.

Issues such as gender segregation, unconscious bias, and discrimination continue to have an impact on female recruitment across the labour market. We have heard how ideas such as blind applications, offering flexible working opportunities, and improving careers advice can help to combat this.

Through a series of meetings examining the recruitment process from start to finish, the APPG will consider how to improve female recruitment across the employment and labour market. This work will culminate in the publication of a report with a series of recommendations for employers, Government, and women themselves.
