James has spent over 25 years working as a journalist including over 10 years writing about politics. He was Westminster correspondent for Scottish title The Sunday Post covering the Scottish independence referendum, the EU referendum and Westminster and Holyrood elections, before turning freelance and writing for outlets including The New Statesman and The Daily Telegraph.

He is also the author of two books: The Gender Agenda (JKP 2017) and Dads Don’t Babysit (Ortus 2018).

James presented and produced The Brexit Breakdown podcast for the UK in a Changing Europe and continues to exec produce A Podcast of One’s Own with Julia Gillard for The Global Institute for Women’s Leadership.
