Women and Manual Trades  is the national organisation for tradeswomen and women training in the trades. Formed in 1975, we are the first group formed by women to promote working in construction and building services as a positive and enjoyable option for women. Our aim is to represent and support women working and training in skilled trades. We provide services that respond to the needs of our member tradeswomen. We want to increase the number of women working in industries where they are underrepresented, and to help them improve their prospects and economic capacity.

This year, as we celebrate our 40th birthday, we are launching a new campaign to make ‘women on the tools the norm, not the exception’

This event has been made possible thanks to generous support from our new patron, Charlie Mullins, and Rt Hon Baroness Garden of Frognal, who is hosting the event.
