Successfully achieving our zero emission transport future depends upon a comprehensive public charging infrastructure that’s robust, reliable and accessible to all.
This FREE conference in Westminster brings together an illustrious panel of industry experts and Government representatives, regulators and consumer groups to tackle the big questions:
- What does the perfect public charging network look like for the end user?
- What industry actions and Government interventions are necessary to deliver a public charging network to be proud of?
- How many and what type of public charging points will we need?
Determining the number and distribution of future public charging points is a question often asked – with many alternative scenarios suggested. The EV Energy Taskforce has carried out sophisticated in-depth modelling to provide the answer, which will be unveiled at the conference.
This modelling uses a new framework approach to understand the key issues in more detail than ever before by exploring the linkages between travel behaviour, EV deployment, infrastructure and the energy system. For the first time, this is built using critical assumptions that have been agreed across the sector and the results scrutinised by a wide range of consumer groups, industry and Government stakeholders.
The event will launch two key reports from the EV Energy Taskforce, containing industry-wide recommendations to Government on:
- The charging infrastructure required in 2035 and the enabling conditions necessary to deliver it.
- The current state of the EV charging landscape, celebrating progress made so far and highlighting the priority actions needed to keep the UK on track to deliver success.
At the conference, the EV Energy Taskforce’s panel of experts will discuss and debate the model outputs, offer perspectives from private and fleet users, and how we ensure our public charging network is both used and usable.
A keynote address is planned from Trudy Harrison MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Department for Transport.
FREE networking lunch and post-conference drinks reception for all attendees. Book your FREE place today.
About the EV Energy Taskforce
The ground-breaking Electric Vehicle Energy Taskforce uniquely brings senior stakeholders from energy, infrastructure, automotive, transport and consumer groups together for the very first time, actively advising government and industry on achieving our electric revolution.
Supported by OZEV, DfT and BEIS with input and contributions from over 350 leading UK organisations over the past four years, this highly influential and respected taskforce engages with Ministers, senior policy makers and cross-sector industry experts on being ready for the mass adoption of EVs.
The first set of proposals from the Taskforce, which focused on consumer engagement, domestic charging and energy provision, have been instrumental in informing Government policy and regulatory announcements; and driven industry actions that enable faster, better infrastructure delivery and investment.
The taskforce is run by Zemo Partnership at the request of the UK Government. It is chaired by Philip New, Chief Executive, Energy Systems Catapult.
