The face of England’s politics is changing . In 2017 we will see 5 elected Northern Mayors alongside ones for the West and North Midlands .
We will see more devolution deals across England announced in 2016. Further devolution is on the cards and the Chancellor has already gone beyond Devo-Manc and is committed to the creation of the Northern Powerhouse and devolving powers to many county areas and city regions outside the North.
Now is the time to find out what the Northern Powerhouse and English Devolution really means for you and to get to grips with the detail of the political and policy implications of this Government priority. Our Connect trainers will help you to prepare for and understand the devolution agenda and explain how it is likely to impact on business, growth, investment, infrastructure and service delivery.
Whether you are based in the North or the South, this is the definitive course on the shape of English devolution. Greater devolved powers and a shift away from Westminster means that all those involved in public affairs and politics need to prepare for what devolution means. This excellent Connect training course will answer the following key questions:
- What is behind the push towards devolution?
- What specific policies and funding are being devolved?
- Who’s who? Which key decision makers and influencers will have the power?
- What are the implications for public affairs and Westminster politics moving forward?
This course will be run by two experts on English Devolution and part of the Connect Devo Team: Steve Barwick and Gill Morris
