Connect’s Paul Beckford elected Chair of the CIPR Public Affairs Group

Everyone at Connect is extremely proud that our Account Director, Paul Beckford has been elected as the new Chair of the CIPR Public Affairs Group.

Paul has long played an active role in leading the industry, including through the introduction of the Statutory Register of Lobbyists, and we can’t think of a better person to lead the industry through the challenges of the next few years.

On his election, Paul said:

“I am delighted to have been elected as the CIPR Public Affairs Group chair. It is an honour to take over from Simon McVicker FCIPR whose leadership has been vital in driving the number of Public Affairs professionals participating in CPD. This commitment to professional development is something that I am keen to prioritise in the coming year and hope to work towards increasing the number of public affairs specific training modules offered by the CIPR. One of the key legacies left by Simon has been the establishment of the Young Professionals group and I hope to see this grow and thrive as a mechanism for involving the next generation of public affairs consultants in the work of the CIPR in driving up industry standards. I am fortunate to have had an excellent and vibrant committee elected alongside me and I look forward to working with colleagues in the forthcoming year.”
