Account Manager

We are recruiting for public affairs consultants at all levels to join our growing team. Our main current need is at account manager level.

Connect is a top 100 UK PR agency and one of the UK’s main specialists in public affairs and corporate communications. We are a fast-growing team of 35 consultants with offices in London and Belfast, and a diverse range of clients including FTSE 100 companies, leading trade bodies, trade unions, coalitions and charities.

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Experts in UK politics with a strong understanding of political and decision-making processes in Westminster, Whitehall and town halls.
  • Dynamic and highly flexible, able to juggle a range of clients, issues and priorities
  • A team player, able to work with colleagues with different styles and ways of working
  • A self-starter, and highly motivated, able to use your initiative to deliver strong consultancy support for clients
  • Entrepreneurial, able to grow client income and win new business
  • Confident in media (including social media) relations and able to support clients to gain or manage media coverage and reputation
  • A good writer, able to produce compelling content for reports, proposals, and client outputs such as correspondence, briefings and press articles.

Consultants would be based at our London office at Millbank Tower with flexible working arrangements. All staff are currently working remotely due to COVID-19 guidance.

Account Executive

Connect is a top 100 UK PR agency and one of the UK’s main specialists in public affairs and corporate communications.  We are a fast-growing team of 35 consultants with offices in London and Belfast, and a diverse range of clients including FTSE 100 companies, leading trade bodies, trade unions, coalitions and charities.

To support our continued growth, we are looking for candidates who are interested in working in public affairs, ready to start from day one and with potential to become excellent consultants. The most important quality we are looking for is a passion for politics and a desire to make a career in public affairs, as well as some work experience.

You will be working with a cross-party, dynamic team with experience in Parliament, the political parties, trades unions, charities, local government and business across a range of policy areas. You will be working directly for our clients from day one, as a member of our monitoring team and as a consultant on client accounts.

We give our recruits experience across the business including public affairs, corporate communications and the built environment over their first six months. You will also benefit from our own training arm, Connect Training, which offers a range of training courses both to external audiences and our in-house team.

Account Executive/Senior Account Executive/Account Manager – Built Environment

Connect is an award-winning public affairs and planning communications agency that helps clients secure planning consent for housing, educational facilities, and major infrastructure projects across the country.

With our in-depth knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of local government, community groups and local media we help our clients to engage, communicate and consult effectively. As a growing, vibrant business, a range of opportunities have opened up to expand our Built Environment team. We are looking for excellent communicators with an interest in the built environment sector. Additional experience of local government, planning, housing and consultation would be desirable. You may be looking to start out in communications in the built environment sector or have around one to two years’ experience in providing research and political advice. For more experienced applicants work on strategic land projects and projects outside of London would be advantageous, but is not essential.

In this role you will develop consultancy skills to maintain positive client relationships, identify issues which might impact on client activity, actively develop new business ideas and initiatives and contribute to profitable accounts.

The ideal candidate will be confident, outgoing, a great networker, knowledgeable about politics and policy making and keen to work in a commercial environment. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be well organised, highly motivated and able to work under your own initiative. You will have good interpersonal skills and you will be developing your own networks within both political and media circles which you will maintain and expand.
