Connect is one of the leading agencies working in the water industry. We have worked with our clients to drive the water agenda across Westminster, Whitehall and the regulatory framework.
Affinity Water, the largest water-only supplier in the UK, wanted to establish itself as the leading community focused water company in the country. To develop its Five Year Business Plan, Affinity was looking for a greater level of understanding about the political and broader local stakeholders in each of the communities they serve.
Connect devised and carried out a wide-ranging perceptions audit. We identified the most appropriate MPs, councillors and council officers, conducted a structured interview process and reported the findings back in a detailed report and presentation to the senior team. The review demonstrated key findings relating to Affinity’s engagement, approach and delivery. We offered clear recommendations on how to develop their ambitions to become part of the communities they serve, many of which were taken up in the production of their Business Plan for the 2014 Price Review.
Affinity Water became one of only two water companies to receive ‘Enhanced Status’ from Ofwat for their Business Plan, with their ‘consistent focus on listening and responding to what their customers want’ as a deciding factor. As a result, Affinity Water were entitled to up to £7 million additional funding.
